ST. LOUIS CULTURE VULTURE TOUR - ANNIVERSARY EDITION

March 4-7, 2009

Some of St. Louis’ top cultural attractions and events are marking significant anniversaries in 2009. Highlights of this media tour include: The Missouri Botanical Garden celebrates being green for 150 years. Among the Top Three public gardens in the world, this 79-acre gem showcases the natural beauty of each season. A mere 130 years has passed since the wonders of the art world have been on view at the Saint Louis Art Museum. The original museum building moved from downtown to its current 1904 World’s Fair Palace of Fine Arts location in Forest Park at the end of the fabled Fair. There you’ll experience Power and Glory: Court Arts of China’s Ming Dynasty, a landmark exhibition of extraordinary works made during the reign of an imperial house that ruled China from 1368 to 1644. The curtain has risen for 80 entertaining years at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. Tour the outrageously ornate former movie palace-turned-Broadway theatre and take in a blockbuster show. Some of St. Louis’ most recognized cultural icons are four-legged. The Budweiser Clydesdales were introduced as a symbol of St. Louis-famed brewery 75 years ago. These beautiful creatures and their glossy, red beer wagon can be visited in their National Register of Historic Places stable at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery and at their Grant’s Farm breeding facility. The St. Louis Blues are the roots music heritage of the Gateway City. Experience this American musical art form nightly at St. Louis pubs and clubs.

This July, Major League Baseball’s annual showcase of the best in the game comes to America’s best baseball city: St. Louis.
