SEPTEMBER CONVENTIONS IN ST. LOUIS ST. LOUIS - August 28, 2008 - More than 16,000 Ace Hardware retailers will gather in St. Louis for the Ace Hardware Corporation (AHC) Fall Convention, September 19-21. The three-day convention will take place at the America's Center convention complex. This bi-annual trade show is held for Ace retailers to buy new products, learn about new trends and network. AHC is a retailer-owned cooperative of more than 4,800 independent Ace stores in all 50 states and 70 countries with 15 distribution centers throughout North America. The National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE) will meet in St. Louis for their 13th Annual Education Symposium and Trade Show, September 10-15, at the Renaissance Grand Hotel. The theme of the symposium is "Gateway to Education." Sessions to be offered include instructional strategies, classroom management, distance learning, technology, research and clinical education. In addition, there will be daily lectures, an exhibit hall and nightly events. The NAEMSE Symposium was created as a support to all EMS Educators, providing them a forum where they can hear others in their fields discuss important topics. The nation's leading conference for managers and administrators of solo and small group physician practices will gather in St. Louis for the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management Annual National Conference, September 17-19, at the Millennium Hotel St. Louis. At the conference attendees can update their leadership and business skills, learn from healthcare management experts and visit with vendors. Four hundred transplant nurses and coordinators from around the world will gather in St. Louis for the International Transplant Nurses Society (ITNS) Annual Symposium, September 25-27, at the Millennium Hotel St. Louis. The theme of the symposium is "Gateway to Excellence in Transplant Nursing." The symposium will offer three-days of education and workshops such as long-term management of the transplant patient, immunologic challenges, donor-related issues, pediatrics and research. Featured speakers include Sharon Pappas, RN, chief nursing officer at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver; and Catherine Herridge, Peter's Mom / National Correspondent with FOX News, Washington, DC. ITNS is a worldwide professional nursing organization representing all areas of transplantation. The St. Louis Gateway Classic Foundation American Family Insurance Gateway Football Classic brings Kentucky State University and Stillman College to the Edward Jones Dome, September 27 at 3:00 p.m. Other activities taking place during the weekend include the AmerenUE Battle of the Bands half-time show between competing schools at the football game, the St. Louis Downtown Partnership Pep Rally on September 26 at 5:00 p.m. at Baer Plaza and "The Spirit of Sports" Parade September 27 at 10:00 a.m. from 12th & Market Streets in downtown St. Louis to the Edward Jones Dome. Military groups holding reunions in St. Louis in September include Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, September 6-13, at the Crowne Plaza St. Louis Downtown; USS Skagit AKA 105, September 10-13, at the St. Louis Marriott West; Army Otter Caribou Association, September 11-14, at the Sheraton West Port Hotel - Plaza; and USS Plymouth Rock LSD 29, September 18-21, at the Doubletree Hotel St. Louis at Westport. Attached is a list of the conventions, meetings, trade shows and special events booked or serviced by the St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission for September.
